Eagle Rock Music Festival

2019
Strategy + Operations + HR/Training + Business Development

Executive Planning Committee Member for the Eagle Rock Music Festival in Eagle Rock, California.

THE PROCESS

I was sought out by the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, an organization that provides arts programming and education to the Northeast Los Angeles communities, to recruit artists and on board and manage over 150 volunteers and staff for their annual community event, Eagle Rock Music Festival

Center for the Arts Eagle Rock had a vision of expanding this annual “By Locals, For Locals” community street festival that celebrates the diverse talents and imaginations of the musicians, artists, community members and merchants of Northeast Los Angeles. This outdoor community event could accommodate a diverse audience of over 30K attendees.

Upon joining the CFAER team, I spent four years designing and producing events within various site specific spaces, connecting with artists and working with dozens of staff and volunteers. Working with Eagle Rock Music Festival was a necessary step to growing my personal brand direction, and introduced me to the world of producing large-scale, community events.

To inspire and recruit over 100 volunteers, I hosted a series of community outreach events and rallied high school and college students to support the event.

I hired and trained the local events team, recruited artists and talent, and assisted our Director of Partnerships in securing Council Member and local business support.

My focus was on building out the events team and recruiting artists.

Ultimately we were able to execute one of the most celebrated and unique community experiences in Los Angeles.

THE RESULT

I recruited, trained, and managed over 150 volunteers and staff for Eagle Rock Music Festival.

REVIEW

Despite our high goals and abridged timeline, we created a community event that was not only celebrated for its unique location and programming, but an event that would also become a staple within the local community raising over $1M towards arts education and programming for Center for the Arts Eagle Rock.
